May International Productions

Meet The Team

May International Productions was founded in 1990 by Marlene May and Lillian May. Together, the dynamic May sisters deliver a strong, comprehensive and personal approach to every production they execute.

Multi-award winning producer, Marlene May got her start with the grant of a prestigious internship as a student, which soon became associate producer and then assignment desk positions, while still attending the University of Miami School of Communications. She graduated from UM with a double major in Broadcast Journalism and Television and Motion Picture Production.

Later, as a Senior Producer and Field Producer with the Telemundo and Univision Networks, Marlene covered events including The Fall Of The Berlin Wall, Papal visits to Mexico and Colombia, the Salvadoran Civil War, the Ouster of Baby Doc Duvalier, as well as numerous political conventions, campaigns and elections in both the United States and in Latin America.

Marlene has been honored with several coveted Emmy Awards in the news-oriented specials category for her work as an Executive Producer for the Telemundo Network, and numerous national awards for corporate work as a direct result of her intense dedication to high-quality production.

Prior to becoming an independent producer, Ms. May was hired by CNN, the Cable News Network, as Executive Producer for the launch of the first-ever daily Spanish-language news broadcast produced by an American television network, which is still on air.

Since the founding May International Productions, Marlene has worked for over two decades as a freelancer, interviewing hundreds of celebrities throughout the years for shows like EXTRA and Inside Edition, as well as People en Español’s behind the scenes VNRs.

Emmy Award-nominated co-founder, Lillian May began her career with a local video production company called Visual Dimensions, during her undergraduate studies at the University of Miami. Although she was hired to develop marketing strategies and campaigns, she soon was involved in the writing, directing, and producing of industrial videos and television commercials. Subsequently, Lillian earned her BBA in International Finance and Marketing and was also bestowed the Marketing Award of Honor from UM's Business School. Lillian also taught Marketing Foundations and International Economic Policy at the University of Miami’s School of Continuing Studies. She then went on to graduate with a Master in Business Administration. Upon graduation, Lillian was hired by Cordis (now a Johnson & Johnson company). Due to her combined Marketing and Finance education, she was quickly promoted to work under the V.P. of Marketing, the Treasurer and President of Cordis Bio-Synthetics, as well as the V.P. of Cordis Corporate Research, and Cordis’ Treasurer, eventually reporting to Cordis' CFO and sitting on the Board of Cordis Bio Synthetics by her mid-twenties.

Upon co-founding May International Productions, Lillian also became involved in all aspects of production from field producing to scriptwriting. Her wide range of education and experience prepared Lillian with the formula for success... give client's an advantage in their own markets by maximizing business communication and service while maintaining minimum fees to them. Today, Lillian lends her expertise to May International Productions in the development and design video productions while striving to meet and/or exceed our clients' desired goals in a cost effective manner.

In addition to her participation in various professional, community and charitable activities during her corporate tenure, Lillian became an active board member of Centro Mater Foundation from 1990 to 2015. Centro Mater Foundation is a non-profit daycare and afterschool program established in 1968 to provide vital services to in-need children. Lillian participated in the growth of Centro Mater from one center to five fully accredited centers throughout South Florida dring her tenure. In 2015, she withdrew from Centro Mater's board to help care for her mother who was stricken with ALS. Since then, both she and Marlene have served on various fundraising committees to help find a cure for ALS, including the University of Miami's ALS Center and the ALS Organization of Greater Miami. In addition, Lillian has been volunteering with the Heel2Heal Therapy Dog Organization, along with Roxy, her trained and certified dog, in providing therapy visits to students and patients, the young and old, throughout the community for over 5 years.
